start up password no longer requested

11.04 Natty dual booted with W7, Ubuntu Tweak

After switching on, and selecting Ubuntu as the o/s, my laptop now goes straight to full usability - convenient but insecure. Up 'til a few days back I had to use a password via the key ring thingy. That usually pops up much later, after everything is working - useless!

Additionally the once bullet-proof snooze mode now doesn't connect reliably to the Internet through my modem/router, necessitating a re-start.

I haven't knowingly done anything to change any settings but I did install playonlinux so I could use Internet Explorer (not very usefully) - help please.

Is there a System Restore like Windows?

You can go to System Settings->Users and turn off Automatic Login.

thank you - I've done that and all looks OK

Curious, though, that I hadn't knowingly selected automatic log in and I haven't touched any of the basic configurations in the many months since I installed the o/s.... Any road up things are back to the way they were so onward and upward. thanks again!
