xrandr resize without stretching

I want to use xrandr tool to resize the resolution, but I don't want the screen to look stretched after the change of resolution, how do i do that?, I'm using "xrandr -s 800x600", I know something is missing to obtain the results I want, there is where I need some help, please, if somebody can bring a solution, tanks

If your monitor is native wide screen then there's not much you can do other than make sure you're using a wide screen resolution. 800x600 is a standard 4:3 format resolution.

If all you're referring to is your wallpaper then you'll have to either crop the wallpaper to fit the resolution or play with the wallpaper settings to adjust it to your liking.
