Same problem on dell 7720 with ubuntu 12.04. But original installed ubuntu 11.10 did not have same issue and work fine with touchpad. Maybe someone can extract that driver into separated package?

Dell 7720 with 12.04 (32 bit), same problem: can't disable tap to click. This is a big problem IMHO because I frequently get tabs closed while switching tabs in Chrome. Isn't there any workaround while this bug is being solved, without recompiling kernels, please...

Maybe my old fingers are messy, but I can't understand how can people have tap to click enabled and not make clicks by mistake, let alone have this "feature" enabled by default.
