Multiple programs using the same audio output?

    Hey,
I'm running Ubuntu 11.04, I've replaced pulseaudio completely with Alsa in hopes that JACK would stop freaking out about multiple programs using hw:0 at once.
I love using JACK for audio production, but I hate having to close QJackCtl every time I want to listen back on whatever song gave me inspiration, then restarting both Jack and the DAW [Digital Audio Workstation] just to continue with the production.

[Tl;dr section] So what I'm asking is either:
Can I run the entire system through QJackCtl, and if so, how and what would be the downsides to it?
Is there some way to allow Jack and the rest of the computer to use the hw:0 output at the same time, and if so, how and what would be the downsides to that?

Thanks! I really appreciate the fact that there's forums for assistance.

Nevermind, I figured it out and wrote a tutorial.
