    Certain keys not working correctly

I have been using windows 7/ubuntu dual boot on Sony laptop: VGN-NR220E.

I got this keyboard(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823191008), ever since the keyboard is acting strange. some keys are not typing(u,o,7,8,9,k, etc...) are not typing when pressed. I found that am able to type these letters if i press the function key together with the letter. do i need to install a specific driver for the keyboard ?

same thing happens with the laptop keyboard.

    thanks

So the wireless keyboard works under the windows 7 with no problem, that's right?

    Yes.

Right now, the default generic 105 international keyboard is selected. when i try to change the layout, I do not see SIIG as a manufacturer.

the SIIG keyboard only has 88 keys, that seems to be the problem.

Question Re: Certain keys not working correctly

Since the keyboard does not have the numpad keys, some of the keys on the right side can be used to type the numpad letters, by pressing the function key. Due to some issue, I cannot type these letters, I need to press "function key + i", any way to fix this behavior ?

Re: Certain keys not working correctly

Try changing your keyboard layout options. Just go to dash and type keyboard layout to get the gui configuration.
    Ia! Ia! Ubuntu ftaghn!

Re: Certain keys not working correctly

How do i check, what the system sees my keyboard as ? There is no option to add SIIG keyboard.

    Update:
Problem solved. Had numlock on. After turning numlock off, it works normally, though the numpad keys do not work with function key pressed.

    Found solution here.
