    No it isn't. Its much better than people give it credit for. KDE has a simple setting to disable Kwin effects for fullscreen programs, which immediately gives it an edge over Compiz imho. Games and video are much smoother on KDE for me. I'd recommend anyone who has the hardware to run games, to run KDE with Kubuntu.
