The only dumb question is the one not asked.

I don't know I've never had that problem... but then again. I never ran UE in live mode, I've only run the install. which I've never had any problem with.
So maybe try doing install instead of Live mode.
same in install mode. same with the 3.x lite version 2.8 installs but wont load. missing something it says.

Hmm.... That's kinda strange. I don't know, I've never had any issues with UE at like that.
You might want to go ask about this issue at the

Most likely one of the developers will be able to help you. (Well every time I ask something about it a developer responded, So there's a good chance that one will help you.)
Yeah, the Ultimate Edition forum where Thee Mahn works.

There support is great and Blackwolf (Thee Mahn's Administrator) will answer right away.

it seems to be something to do with the particular computers. both have the same msi boards but different brand and type DVD RWs.
one has two ide drives the other one sata and one ide. one has an ide hdd the other a sata.
the drives work and check fine when plugged into a dell m6300 and install the system with no problem.
I have about concluded that either the boards or the ram have developed a glitch of some kind.

I've run across several distros that do this. Somewhere they always show the user/password to use.
Usually user is the name of the distro, for instance "ultimate" -- sometimes the password is "root" I've also seen 'user' and 'owner'
The info is close to where you have to use it, probably on the same page you'd enter it.

Dear Stalkingwolf,
As Critin has said, this information is usually displayed as a "Readme" file or under "Help".
However, as previously stated, I'm fairly certain` that Ultimate Edition requires you to leave the boxes blank and press "Enter".
Hope this solves your problem.
Cheers,

was definitely the msi boards . both have since gone belly up.
