Try to boot again (I assume you already tried that; try again). This was a very common problem with CDs in the past (and I guess it was a timing issue somewhere).
Other memory stick might also do the trick (not saying that yours is bad).
If you don't make backups of your important data, your data is obviously not important to you.
I've tried, but it still doesn't work.

Every time that I've had a Live CD or USB ask for a password it's been because of a bad burn/copy.
Check that your downloaded ISO file is good by checking the MD5SUM, when you are sure that your download is good then try recreating your bootable USB.
