    .iso to SDHC card

    i downloaded the consumer preview of windows 8 and i wanted to put it on my computer. however, i dont want to waste any more writable dvd's. is there any way to burn an image file to an SD card?

    You can do this the same way that you burn an image to a USB, however in the past I have had trouble booting from an SD card so I would recommend making a bootable USB stick instead.

    if i select the windows file and click open then nothing happens in the "startup disk creator"

    yes the name of it is

    "Windows8ReleasePreview64bit-English.iso"

    Try Unetbootin - I feel like "Startup Disk Creator" works best for ubuntu.

     sudo apt-get install unetbootin
