    Samba unsymmetric perfomance

    Hello
Running ubuntu 12.04 on two computers connected by network cable via a dlink dir-655 router. I have in the past had problems with the quality of wireless so I have now switched to a wired connection thinking that would also solve my problem with bad samba performance but it did not.
What I got instead was a very strange issue. The transfer rate is not the same both ways but from the server I get 170kB/sec when copying to the server I get 5.3 MB/sec. Has anyone seen this behaviour before and now how to solve the slow copying from the server ?
    Best Regards

edit: Bought a new network card to replace the old built in card which solved my problem, driver issue or hwproblem ? I cant tell. but here is what I had and what I got from lshw
NEW CARD "product: RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet vendor: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd."
OLD CARD "product: MCP61 PCI Express bridge vendor: NVIDIA Corporation"
