install Adobe Flash or Pepper Flash to view videos?
Well I used to. But now I' m back at Firefox. I have the restricted
area's installed . I'd love to ditch proprietary codecs and Flash.
If only Youtube would fully switch to HTML5. And included in the restricted
areas is also the software to play DVDs. That are the main reasons I haven't
fully ditched proprietary software ..

- 320GB WD3200 (4KB blocks ) - Intel HD3000/Nvidia Geforce GT520M - Win7 Ho. Pre. 64 bit/Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit
With the latest version of Android not officially being supported by Flash, including their new flagship tablet. So I can't imagine it will be long before YouTube moves fully away from flash.
If it is only Youtube then it is very easy, even now you don't need flash for youtube. On firefox you can install the flashvideoreplacer which works much better than flash, totem has a flash plugin that works on Youtube (though you can't control the resolution), there is minitube, Smplayer and Umplayer both have Youtube viewers. Indeed why would one even use flash for Youtube when there are so many better options? If only Youtube would fully switch to HTML5. And included in the restricted
areas is also the software to play DVDs. That are the main reasons I haven't
fully ditched proprietary software ..
So Youtube is a non issue, but there is a lot of media content that require flash (I don't mean porn, check out BBC or any of your favorite news site) and it is not only video (soundcloud, voice in google-translator, for examples).
To answer OP's question. I am not sure you can install pepper flash in Chromium because it is distributed with Chrome. If you only need flash 11.2 then why not just use Firefox?

I prefer chrome over chromium because it says up to date without needing 3rd party ppa's, included pepper flash out of the box, has more codecs out of the box, and includes a pdf reader out of the box.
