It fixed my problem too. I had just come back to say that I got more information from the Java Console. I had found that each failure was occurring because Java could not find the host, even though the URL was valid. I was starting to think that it was a DNS lookup problem. I did not have lib32nss-mdns installed. Once I installed it, my applets started working.

My guess is the lib32nss-mdns is whats solving the issue. You already have a flash plugin installed.

I had the same java problem, and it was fixed after installing lib32nss. Also had a flash problem and that was cleared up too.using

Hi.
I have a little different problem with java. I use swiftweasel. In my situation applet load, but when I click in it swiftweasel hangs with no error, and it eats a lot cpu. It also happen when I enter https sites. For example https://www.kb24.pl/LoginServlet . When i write ident and pin and press to log in it simply hangs.
