Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64

Thanks, but the advice is still good. If you cant get the manual howto to work. Install the automatic script. It will write over everything and make sure everything is done.

anyway the script didnt work, it created the essential folder, output "cannot create" something then terminal quit. it installed firefox to /usr/local/bin but there are no other files in that directory.

anyway flashplayer still doesnt work.


ok so I got fed up with that and installed firefox 2.0.0.3 for windows using WINE and then installed flashplayer for the windows firefox and it actually works, but there is no sound, any ideas hwo to correct this?

OOPS! I realized this is for amd64!

Where do I go for normal install?

Leave the script in the folder. The files it downloads go in it, and are then cleaned up when everything is done. Try

sudo bash

Then run the script with

./base-plugins

I re-ran the script with sudo and it installed without a hitch. Java, flash and mplayer all works great now. Excellent script! Thanks Kilz!

If you dont want to install the script, I dont know what I can do to help you. Im not sure about the sound in flash on wine.
But from what I have read, you at least have Firefox 32 installed. If you want to finish the script install. Can you tell me if the browser-plugins folder was removed from your desktop, thats the last thing the script does.

Your welcome. Was it just plain sudo or sudo bash that let it install on xubuntu?
