Star character for libreoffice

I need to add a star symbol to a libreoffice document, in my old windows days I would have selected the wingdings font and mashed buttons until i found a star, any ideas how to get a star in libreoffice or what ubuntu font has a star character?

OpenSymbol font has star characters.

How does one use this? Press alt and u together, then release and enter the number just gives the number.

what ubuntu font has a star character

Within LibreOffice, if you do Insert->Special Character, choose OpenSymbol font and scroll down, don't you see something like the attached?
