ubuntuforums Editor Gizzmo will not let me edit older posts

I just noticed I cannot edit older posts. I wanted to correct a problem with a post I made about zsyncing the quantal-alternate-i386.iso.

I thought I had seen a post about this but can't find it.

I saw this mentioned recently. Apparently its due to some drastic efforts to control spam on the boards until they can get the "go ahead" on upgrading vBulletin.
