Re: Linux Command Line Learning Resources

I've moved the old thread to the wiki so that it's more readily available and editable by any who care to contribute, rather than just myself and the forum mods.
You can still contribute your favorite CLI learning resources to this thread, if you are unable or unwilling to edit the wiki page. I'll still keep up with this thread and add your contributions to the wiki.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I found metalx1000 on YouTube to be very helpful with getting some BASH basics.

    Here is his YouTube profile:

He has two BASH playlist's and much more.

    It's good to get started

I found these cheat sheets very useful:
    Unix/Linux cheat sheet: http://fosswire.com/post/2007/08/uni...d-cheat-sheet/
    Ubuntu cheat sheet: http://fosswire.com/post/2008/04/ubuntu-cheat-sheet/

You can print those on both sides of an A4 paper and laminate the paper....

I have never found anything better than the "Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide". I used it the entire time I was in my computer systems program, it is simply the best resourse out there.

    It's all good!

This looks to be a good website.
I have just started working on Linux command line.. will this be a very advanced guide?

I don't recommend the Advanced Shell Scripting Guide for beginners. It has some good information, but also a lot of misleading things and poor syntax.
