Problem editing the Crowdsourced Linux games list

    Hello,
For a few months now I and a few others have been maintaining a list of Kickstarter and other crowdfunded games that either have confirmed Linux support or were deliberating Linux support. The purpose of this thread was to help increase the amount of games available for Linux by giving supporters a list of these sorts of games so they could either give money to games with confirmed Linux support, or petition for planned games to gain Linux support. This thread, has played it's part along with many other Linux gaming resources to help bring Linux support to multiple games such as the Banner Saga and Carmageddon along with helping games with confirmed Linux versions to reach their funding target, such as Two Guys Spaceventure.

The list as compiled so far can be seen here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1945254

Recently, I went to add two more games that a poster submitted only to find my post was uneditable. This is quite concerting, we had been gaining a lot of momentum with the thread, a lot of work put into it, and the thread had recently been stickied. We'd been working hard as given the huge amount of activity, recent development and importance that Canonical has attached to Linux gaming, along with the rise of Crowdsourcing, it's vital that this area gets as much attention as it can. I like to think our efforts in this thread have played an role in mobilising the activism of Linux users to help ensure that some of the exciting new games on the horizon get Linux ports.

With the thread locked down, however, I'm usure of how to proceed and it seems all our efforts have been brought to a standstill. Surely something can be done to prevent this from happening.

I'm looking for help and assistance on this.

    Regards,
    Sofox

You will have to move your list to the wiki or add items into additional posts.

    I see.

Could someone tell me exactly how I should approach this, or maybe create a blank page in the Wiki for me to extend the project onto? I don't know the layout of the Ubuntu wiki and would like to know where exactly in the (two?) wikis it should be placed.

If you would like to help with the wiki, great. There are people here who can help you learn to wiki.

If you are not going to do wiki, that is also up to you.

If you would like to help, join #ubuntuforums , #ubuntu-wiki, and #ubuntu-doc

    See bodhi.zazen's script

Please send any suggestions for improvements or bugs with the script to bodhi.zazen in PM on the forums or on #ubuntuforums.

    2. There is some confusion about the wiki.

    help.ubuntu.com is for documentation
wiki.ubuntu.com is for teams and projects

The tutorials forum has been an invaluable resource for the ubuntu community, however, as the community has grown, the time has come to move this activity to the community wiki.

Advantage wiki: Community maintained, peer reviewed, and easier to maintain.

Disadvantage forums posts: Limited peer review and maintenance (only forums staff and the Original Poster).

This does not mean that the tutorial forum will be completely closed.

    We propose that:

    1. Authors post tutorials on the Ubuntu community wiki. Before starting a new page, search the wiki to see if your content exists and/or simply needs to be updated.
    2. The community assists in both migrating the forums tutorials and maintaining the wiki.
    3. This section should be used to support specific wiki pages. Support questions should be migrated to the support sections.
    4. Collaboration with the community. Other projects (outside the forums) use the wiki documentation.

    ...

The wiki that will be home to these new creations will be the https://help.ubuntu.com/community not the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ site
