    Closing some guides.......

New editing rules mean I cannot easily edit the following guides, nor do I believe they are suitable for a wiki. Can they all be closed, archived, deleted or whatever is deemed suitable?

[Howto] Setup irssi and join #ubuntu on Freenode
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1010780

Howto: Build the newest version of Bluefish under Ubuntu
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1426958

Linux Basics: A gentle introduction to accessing 'svn' repositories

HOWTO: Convert music CDs to MP3 using the Command Line.

Of course anybody is free to use the material for a wiki if they wish.

Why do you feel that the threads aren't worth wikifying?

You've been keeping them up-to-date here on the forums, so why not just continue doing the same when they are wiki pages?

    Re: Closing some guides.......

I have already selected and converted about half a dozen of my guides to the new wiki format (as well as parking a couple on my own website). But I have a great sense of unease with the process that is leading to the demise of Tutorials and Tips and an increasing unwillingness to take part in this process. My unease at these changes was one of the reasons I withdrew from Ubuntu Membership, a membership which was granted to me for my work on these Forums, much of this work occurring in Tutorials and Tips.

Hence these remaining guides have been left in limbo and will no longer be supported or converted to the wiki format by me. Others may use the information if they wish for wikis, blogs etc etc. But leaving them 'open' and undeveloped goes against my principles...
