Email address - enter your email address xxxxxxx@live.com

    Receiving Email tab
    Server Type: POP
    Server: pop3.live.com
    Security: SSL Encryption
Authentication type: Password and remember password.

    Sending Email tab
    Server Type: SMTP
    Server: smtp.live.com:587
Tick the box Server requires authentication
    Security: TLS encryption
    Authentication: PLAIN
    Username: xxxxxxx@live.com
    Tick the box remember password.

Notice the port 587, it makes the difference with the TLS encryption.
    Hope this helps everyone!

Excellent.. adding port 587 to the server solved my sending problems.

    Thanks

Works like a charm (For those who can't find "Plain", just use "Login" on SMTP). "Plain" was no longer an option to select with the lastest version of Evolution

    Hi there guys,

I have stupid problem. My evolution is downloading like 7 times the same messages. So i have normally 2000 email on my mailbox but now in evolution shows 10000 just because it downloaded it few times. Is it possible to fix this somehow? Thanks a lot anyway.

Re: HOWTO: Send and Receive Hotmail through Evolution

Hi I've just started using 10.10 and i'm completely new to UNIX I'm having some problems with this HowTo. When I put the first step:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
into the terminal in runs through fine to 96%

    then I get the message:

    Code:
Media Change: Please insert the disc labelled
     'Lubuntu 10.10 _Maverick Meerkat_ - i386 (20101010)'
in the drive ‘/cdrom/’ and press enter
This is confusing to me as I have never used Lubuntu shouldn't the update work automatically?

Any help or explanation would be appreciated.

    Jez

Thanks excellent post even though i didn't read it all i found all necessary information and then some. I must say that in my case the only useful was that instead of plain username you need to insert username@hotmail.com and it worked.
