Re: HOWTO: Send and Receive Hotmail through Evolution

    Many thanks linfidel!

I think I was able to follow your instructions, as well as the ones from

But even though it reads there that: " that Hotmail has POP3,...", now I'm getting the following error message:
Unable to connect to POP server
Error sending password: -ERR user does not have POP3 access
Please enter the POP password for on host
I tried a couple of times unsuccessfully to use my regular hotmail login password, as well as another one I was required to create for a keyring(?) or whatever.

    Any suggestions highly appreciated!

    P.S. At it also reads:
To be able to use POP3, you need to have a Windows Live Hotmail Plus subscription. However, free users can access their emails offline either through Microsoft Outlook Connector or Windows Live Mail Client.
Thus it seems like there's no way to Evolution for those with a free Hotmail account.

On the other hand it reads at
As part of Phase 1, we have rolled this feature out to all free users in the following countries:
UK, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
Next Phases are still in planning and US will be included in Phase 2 which is targeted sometime in the month of February. We will be updating this solution article with more specific dates as we get closer to the migration.
Users registered in the countries mentioned above will be able to use the POP services for free and will not require a subscription to do so.
I suppose we might try again later this month.
