    Resolution limited after Ubuntu update

I've been running 12.04 for several weeks now under VirtualBox, and everything was working fine. But I just installed an Ubuntu update, which included a kernel update, and now I cannot change screen resolution above 1600 x 1200. I was formerly running at 1900 x 1200, but that seems to be no longer an option.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a way to return to 1900 x 1200?

    Thanks in advance.

Maybe you have to reinstall the guest additions.

After a kernel update you generally do have to reinstall the guest additions.
