ASUS G73SW-XN2 internal subwoofer not working!

Hello there,

My internal subwoofer will not work in ubuntu 12.04 and I am unsure if it even worked in previous versions. Is there anything I can do to get this to work? I am willing to install experimental drivers or change configuration files just please tell me what to do or tell me what information to provide so I may do so accordingly. I will be more than happy to provide information and will watch this thread on a constant basis.

Can I simply say what a aid to find someone who really knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You undoubtedly know how to convey a difficulty to mild and make it important. More folks must learn this and understand this aspect of the story. I cant imagine youre not more popular since you positively have the gift.

So thanks to Linx in the chat, I figured out that you can open terminal and time "alsamixer" to open a volume control in terminal. Inside that control there is an option labeled as "Bass Speaker" and turning it up should make it work. Unfortunately, I cant control the volume globally, meaning I cant turn down the volume from "main" and have it lower the subwoofer volume as well. Any suggestions?
