    Lubuntu Thread Closing

I have been told from a bunch of Lubuntu members that a thread with lots of excellent quality posts has been jailed. I do not understand why it was jailed.
So, why was this thread jailed? Its in the jail somewhere, I have no links to it.

    Re: Lubuntu Thread Closing

We are asking the Lubuntu team to use the wiki for documentation.

Despite numerous requests and offers of assistance from multiple staff members to amjjawad, amjjawad refuses to use the wiki or work with the forums staff.

So we are working with other, more cooperative members of the lubuntu team.

The forums staff is converting these posts to wiki, lubuntu will maintain wiki pages.

The forums are for support, not documentation.

    Re: Lubuntu Thread Closing

    Thanks for the response Bodhi.
If the Tutorials part of the forum is closing, does that mean all the threads there will be deleted within a certain time period? What is the plan for all the old data (like if it is still relevant, but the OP hasn't been on in six months)?

    Re: Lubuntu Thread Closing

The plan is to review the tutorials, close the outdated ones, transcribe the remaining to the wiki.

It is going to be a long process, and we have an entire team to work through the section. You can join #ubuntu-wiki or #ubutnufourms if you wish to discuss or make suggestions or help out.

First step has been to close to new tutorials and write a script to transcribe forums posts to wiki syntax.

The forums will then be used for support questions and discussion. Documentation goes on wiki.

We hope to have the lubuntu documentation transcribed this weekend, the lubuntu team supports this policy 100 %. We were hoping people who posted the information on the forums would help, but we can not force them to do so.

Most teams use wiki or LP pages to track members and mailing lists to communicate.

You are free to work with the team if you wish to help.
