For my laptop?

Will the Ubuntu Desktop work for my laptop or is there another version for laptops?
My HD died in my laptop, so I'm getting a new one in Tuesday and want to put Ubuntu on it. Already have it on my desktop, going on 3+ years and love it.

There's no special laptop version (there used to be a special netbook version, but Unity has made that obsolete).

I'm using 12.04 on a 10 yr old HP nc6220 and it's running well.
