12.04 wating for network configuration caused by virtual interface

I have added 2 static ip addresses to eth0, but this causes problems at boot, I get the message "waiting for network configuration" and after waiting a few minutes I get that the network is not configured correctly, but everything seems okay. Also /sbin/ifconfig gives shows everything is okay.

    My /etc/network/interfaces:

    Code:
    auto lo
    iface lo inet loopback
    # The primary network interface
    auto eth0
    iface eth0 inet static
            address 141.138.136.42
            netmask 255.255.255.0
            network 141.138.136.0
            broadcast 141.138.136.255
            gateway 141.138.136.1
            dns-nameservers 80.69.67.66 80.69.66.67
    auto eth0:1
    iface eth0:1 inet static
            address 141.138.137.212
            netmask 255.255.255.0
            network 141.138.137.0
            broadcast 141.138.137.255
            gateway 141.138.137.1
    Output of /sbin/ifconfig:

    Code:
    eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 52:54:00:c7:e5:e2
              inet addr:141.138.136.42 Bcast:141.138.136.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

              inet addr:141.138.137.212 Bcast:141.138.137.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
    lo Link encap:Local Loopback
              inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
              inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
              UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
              RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
              TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
              collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
              RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)
When I comment auto eth0:1 in /etc/network/interfaces the box starts up fine, but without the 2nd ip of course.

    Any ideas?

Thanks a lot, that is a good work around. Works great.
