no wifi in 12.04 LTS with Ralink RT3090

    Hello!
I always have problems with my wifi chipset. Now I want to update to 12.04 LTS, so I check if Live CD works.

I can see the available networks but I can't connect any of them.

    My datas are:

    Deactivate the power management:

    sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off
and change the encryption to pure WPA2-AES if possible.

    Hello!
I'm trying with an unsecure wifi connection, so (if I'm right) there's no encryption.

I'm sorry, I couldn't change the encryption, I don't know how to do this.
What else should I do? Is there any driver support for my wifi card at all?

Connect via cable and type the IP address of your routr into the browser (instead of "www.whatever". You should be able to change the encryption in the interface

Re: no wifi in 12.04 LTS with Ralink RT3090

    Thank you!
that works (without the $ sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off) I am using an encrypted line now.

But it's a bit scary, what if I try to connect anywhere else, for example in McDon, or at University, etc.
Do you know maybe a satisfying solution.

But anyway, thanks for your help, it's much better now than before. I think a can start installation.
