Gnome-shell booting to classic or something

Today morning, Gnome-shell was working just fine, with it's pretty and everything. WHile on it, I followed this tutorial: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?PH...&topic=50388.0
For a bitcoin miner. I'm assuming this did something to my display or the way Ubuntu perceives my GPU. I'm also running Awesome, and of course it's working just fine. After rebooting, I get booted into Gnome 2 or Classic or something. Any ideas or help?

    Thanks

Are you using 11.04 or 11.10 as per the tutorial?

You added a driver PPA and made many modifications to the display settings. I would contact the person who wrote the tutorial.

Could you see what changes were made and help me out? Would installing from a live CD fix it?

I stick by the suggestion to contact the author. The Gnome shell is not a default desktop environment and have no way of knowing how this tutorial may have affected the configuration.
