    Android, mtp and file transfer

I have a Samsung android phone with gingerbread and it won't mount correctly like my other android phone (with the version before gingerbread). I understand that mtp is being used now but I haven't found a way that works so far. Currently the phone will mount and show the folders on the phone but all the folders are empty in nautilus. I tried this fix:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1499168

but got an error while compiling. Any easy work arounds to transfer files via a usb connection? I'm currently using wifi / samba.

I don't use Gingerbread and not sure, but did you install

    libusb-dev and gMTP

they are both available in the Software Centre
