I've seen people shouting "cute" at anteaters, so I believe it applies to pangolins, since they are a type of anteaters, too.
Someone may mention "cartoonish" as well.

Having seen it only in pictures, it looks kinda cute and cool.., especially if it rolls into a ball.
Not nearly as beautiful as an ocelot, and a lot more clumsy. Maybe precise.
The pangolin wallpaper is playful, comical. Maybe we need a little play.
But still I wonder: Why a pangolin rather than a porpoise or a panda?
Quetzals are gorgeous.
It's one of my favorites for its weirdness - anything I didn't know about as a kid that seems like something you'd tell kids about to get them interested in ecology is a permanent fave. I like that it independently developed armor on a like totally distal branch of the (placental mammal) tree from the armadillo, and it looks funny and bouncy and rounded in all the same ways its name is. It wouldn't be cute if not for the eyes and snout, but damn, those bulgy little eyes would be cute on anydamnthing.
Really, anything that looks like it was designed as a puppet for an '80s sci-fi pet, it's hard not to appreciate.
About all I think of them is SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Pangolins are completely outside my experience, so I don't really think anything about them. We have armadillos, though. I hate armadillos.
