I'm wondering why the recovery mode doesn't start on my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad E420); Ubuntu 11.10 work perfect, but the recovery mode crash my laptop. I tried running the recovery from different kernels, but no change. The only message I see when I run recovery mode is this:
Then I get a black screen. I wait for like 10 minutes, nothing happen, and I have to shut down my laptop using the Power button.Code:Loading Linux 3.0.0-17-generic ... Loading initial memory disk ...

Is there a way to fix this, or is it a incompatibility with my laptop?
