    No comprende

Holy cow! I'm installing Ubuntu 11.10 on a new 1TB hard drive in my old Dell Dimension 4600 and it took 30 mins to download and install "language packs." God knows how much disk space that took. I only speak one language, so why do I need all that?

Not everyone speaks the same language and choosing a particular language during installation doesn't mean that it won't be changed later. In Ubuntu the language pack is not fully installed until the user chooses to download the additional packages. I don't know if Lubuntu works the same way. Without my music installed Ubuntu is using a hefty 3.5 GB.
