I ran a google search but couldn't get any substance out of them. Its been reported as a bug but the place where its solved, its just for that particular user. I wonder if this panic is in any way related to my new wireless driver.
Let's examine the log file from your last session, which I assume ended in a kernel panic. First, we will copy it to a text file:
    Code:
    cat /var/log/dmesg.0 > samy.txt
Now find the text file samy.txt in your user directory and paste it here and give us the link in your reply: http://paste.ubuntu.com/

We'll examine it and see if we can tell what's going wrong.

The system finally crashed again in panic.! Here is the dmesg you required.! Also, the screen had freezed showing a lot of lines and that error and i had to restart my system by pressing the power button for a long time! I do hope however that this information is relevant.! http://paste.ubuntu.com/5855604/

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad Z570-1024D9U - Laptop (Wireless Help)

I don't see anything alarming related to wireless. I do see quite a few of these:
ACPI Error: Field [B128] at 1152 exceeds Buffer [NULL] size 160 (bits) (20120320/dsopcode-236)
    ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.WMID.HWCD] (Node ffff8802438db258), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20120320/psparse-536)
You might Google that or ask in General Help: http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=331 You can refer them to the same paste.

Perhaps you have some special settings in the BIOS related to ACPI or IRQs. I have the best luck on both of my Lenovos with the BIOS set to Default. Your mileage may vary.

I would also be concerned here:
    [ 0.903531] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] (IRQs 1 3 4 5 6 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
    [ 0.903568] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKB] (IRQs 1 3 4 5 6 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
    [ 0.903604] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKC] (IRQs 1 3 4 5 6 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
    [ 0.903639] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKD] (IRQs 1 3 4 5 6 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
    [ 0.903673] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKE] (IRQs 1 3 4 5 6 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
    [ 0.903707] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKF] (IRQs 1 3 4 5 6 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
    [ 0.903741] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKG] (IRQs 1 3 4 5 6 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
    [ 0.903775] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKH] (IRQs 1 3 4 5 6 10 11 12 14 15) *0, disabled.
I have the best luck with the IRQs set in the BIOS to Autoselect, not disabled.

The bug you linked has to do with Broadcom wireless drivers. You have a Ralink. That won't help us at all.

Re: Lenovo IdeaPad Z570-1024D9U - Laptop (Wireless Help)

Ok. Now, the last crash I experienced was different. A few messages had the location of the driver which I had manually downloaded (Downloads/RT....) and the messages it showed were :
    1. Incorrect desired TSSI
    2. QIDx(0) Insufficient space in MgmtRing : MgmtRingFullCount = n! (Many such messages)

However, I dont have a dmesg of that session because kernel panic occured in the next session before i could cat the relevant information.

I am growing really tense now. Please help.
And one more thing, in the post you told me (manually installing the driver), the downloaded file was moved to the Desktop. However, I did the process in my Downloads directory only. I dont know if it was essential or not.

Not a problem. I only suggest Desktop because it is easier for me to explain to new users. You could do the install from anywhere, as long as you and I can communicate and understand.

Are there any alarming (read: diagnostic) messages in dmesg ordinarily?
    Code:
    dmesg | grep -e rt2 -e rt3
Have you made any changes in the BIOS?

Have you made any changes in the BIOS?
Not explicitly, no. I have a new laptop wherein the traditional BIOS is replaced with UEFI, which is much less user-changeable thing, and when I go to the BIOS setup options, I can't see anything realted to IRQs or ACPIs which you were saying in one of earlier posts.

I don't see anything that looks the least troublesome or that would make me believe that the wireless driver is about to cause a freeze-up. I am still suspicious of the IRQ and ACPI issues and I recommend you research those to be sure there is nothing that needs to be fixed there.
