    personal file sharing

I have been away from Ubuntu for a while and have just upgraded my old version to 11.10, but I am now finding it hard to set up the file sharing I had before with my Windows 7 laptop, I have Samba and all that installed but it still keeps coming up with the message "This feature cannot be enabled because the required packages are not installed on your system" now it does not say what packages I need.

I also need to know what do I now go on to access my windows laptop from my ubuntu pc?

Please can anyone help as once I have these files off I will put a clean install of Ubuntu on

    Many Thanks
    Ian

    Re: personal file sharing

"Personal File Sharing" is not Samba.

Personal file sharing uses elements of apache to share one folder ( Public ) in your home folder. It uses avahi to broadcast it's share and is basically only useful if the other machines on your network are running Linux.
