    Hi Stolea,

No, but you are in luck. Jason backported the Intuos5 support to input-wacom about a week ago. So you should now be able to get a wacom.ko that supports the Intuos5 by cloning the input-wacom git repository. See appendix 1 on the BambooPT HOW TO.

The patch for xf86-input-wacom has been commited to the xf86-input-wacom repository so you would want to clone it too. Part II. on the HOW TO.

Good luck. Let me know if you get it working.

    Hey Favux,

I have an Intuos5 and followed the instructions in the above post, and...now it seems the wacom kernel module is no longer loading. i.e. "lsmod | grep wacom" returns nothing. I've installed the newest xf86-input-wacom from git and input-wacom, and I can see that /lib/modules/3.0.0-17-generic/kernel/drivers/input/tablet/wacom.ko matches what I compiled from the git repo. I've run depmod -a and rebooted. unfortunately I'm not so familiar with installing kernel modules...any idea what I"m doing wrong?

    Hi leptogenesis,

    Usually
I've run depmod -a and rebooted.
gets the newly compiled and copied into place wacom.ko to auto-load. But on some systems for whatever reason it doesn't. You can "force" wacom.ko to auto-load by adding wacom to the list in /etc/modules.
    Code:
    gksudo gedit /etc/modules
Just add it, Save, and reboot. Should now show up in lsmod.

    Great!

Yours may be the first Intuos5 set up in Lucid I've seen reported!

    Re: Installing Wacom5 on Oneiric

I use a VMware installation under Lucid to run Win7. I have to use Photoshop which is what the Intuos5 gets used with.
In native Lucid I can get Intuos to function like a mouse, but why would I. I have tried it in Gimp and the pop-up screen that shows the buttons and controls does not show on the screen, in fact none of the buttons seems to work.
But in the Vmware\Win7 setup everything works fine.

    Re: Installing Wacom5 on Oneiric

No one has written pop up software to control the buttons for an Intuos5 yet that I am aware of. I do have a touch toggle script with notification that will kind of give you that for at least the touch on/off button.

You can configure the buttons with an xsetwacom script. That's described here: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawik..._Configuration Which is one of the HOWTO's on the Linux Wacom Project's mediawiki HOWTO page: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawik...Category:HOWTO And there are some sample xsetwacom scripts attached to post #2 here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1515562

In Precise the GNOME Wacom Graphics Tablet applet in System Settings may allow you to configure the buttons. I don't know. I do know the Intuos5 is in libwacom so there's a chance. It doesn't yet work for my BambooPT though.

The stylus and eraser work in Gimp when you configure the extended input devices, correct?

It now has. Check the most recent update of the linuxwacom project from 2 days ago.

    Hi prokoudine,

Correct, Jason has now added Intuos5 support to the input-wacom git repository and it is in his release of the input-wacom-0.13.0 tar on 4-24-12. And it will be in xf86-input-wacom-0.15.0 which is about to be released as the 0.14.99 tar with it is out.

Haven't had the chance to play around with the xf86 module, but I just discovered that the wireless option doesn't work with Linux either (at least not with my set-up). My normal bluetooth dongle that normally finds any blootooth device can't find the tablet and the dongle that comes with the kit can't see it or any other blootooth device. Works fine in native Windoze7.
I guess its not a biggie but bloody annoying nonetheless.
Will have a look at the xf86 module when I find a moment to play around with it.
