    Star Trek Online under WINE

I am trying to get STO to install and run under WINE (1.3) and Ubuntu 11.10. In WINE HQ it was suggested that "You need to emerge media-libs/libtxc_dxtn". I'm not familiar with that command, and before I run it, I thought I should understand what that command does and the correct usage. So my question is (in two parts) a) Has anyone installed STO successfully either in WINE or Crossover Games, and b) What does that line "emerge media-libs/libtxc_dxtn" do exactly?

emerge is a Gentoo command that doesn't work in Ubuntu. Emerge downloads source code and compiles it. I don't know what you would do in Ubuntu.

Edit: Look at the last post in this thread. It gives links to the Debian deb files you can download. I'm not guaranteeing it will work correctly with your version of Ubuntu, because it is for Debian. But that's the closest I've seen.
