Well my question is exactly as the subject states.
I see Pidgin has two different ways of setting up Skype. One is called "Skype" and one is called "Skype (D-Bus)" and I haven't a clue what the difference is (or what this D-Bus thing means).
Also do you have to be running Skype for this to work?
I know over on MS Windows that Trillian (an all-in-one IM client) had Skype set up so that you had to have the actual Skype program running but then they somehow managed to do it so that you could still IM chat with someone on Skype without actually running the Skype program. The website IM.IMO is the same way (no need to be running Skype).
Which way does Pidgin function?
