Exclamation My mouse is hypersensitive to text on the mousepad

Hey, I have a Logitech M310 invisible laser-guided mouse, and it keeps getting real annoying how sensitive this thing is to the text on my mouse pad and even changes on the granite counter top surface.
Is there a simple, easy was to fix this without replacing the mouse pad?

I tried messing with the sensitivity levels on the Mouse application, and it seems to help quite a bit when I bring the sensitivity level up to it's maximum, but it still isn't perfect.

Can someone please help me with this, possibly?
    Thank you!

I also have mouse pad problems. Mine is different...it moves around various places at will, apparently the pad is super sensitive so even a very slight touch will cause cursor to jump everywhere. It seems as is Ubuntu 10.04 needs a app to disable the mouse pad but I cannot find such an item.

So sorry I can't help. Maybe someone else will notice and give a fix now, Let's hope, Please!
