Thanks ;D

Hi, this HOW TO is fantastic,
Now LinuxDC++ work fine for me... the only thing I have notice is that on my laptop the program is very slow in general ... switching Tab,open dialogs ... (the connection speed is all right).
I have an intel T7500 processor, wiht 2 GB of ram, 160 GB Hard disk (7200 rpm) and a Quadro Fx 360M
And this is the first app very very slow (2 - 3 seconds waiting every click)
Someone else notice this? or is my pc that don't like dc
I think this is almost strange
While I wouldn't say that LinuxDC++ is extremely fast, it is definitely not as slow as you're experiencing. Something in your OS is causing it to be slow. Try disabling Assistive Technology to see if that helps (System->Preferences->Universal Access->Assistive Technology Preferences). Also, make sure you're not hashing files as it is generally pretty slow until it finishes hashing.
hi when i try to lauch dcpp from the terminal i get this message
enve1@enve-ubuntu:~/linuxdcpp$ linuxdcpp
Loading: Hash database
Loading: Shared Files
Loading: Download Queue
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
enve1@enve-ubuntu:~/linuxdcpp$
i cant find out what the problem is
dc window appears and crashes, just disappering from the screen
and in the terminal i get the message above
i need help please
What version are you using?
Read the debugging section of the manual to get a backtrace and post it here.
not sure if i did it right but i got this message;

and this should be added that when i run with gdb, it seems to work, i'll check if it does
Hello ,
Does anyone know how to install LinuxDC++
that is based off Windows DC++ 0.261 or 0.674.
I am recently learning to use Ubuntu 8.04
and it comes bundled with an incompatble
edition .
I don't use DC++ over the internet only
for LAN offline use .
Most of the Windows users , are using DC++
0.261 (non hashing) or DC++ or BCDC++ 0.674
I have tired to convert an RPM to DEB and install
dcpp 0.674 and the program HALF works
It loads , it connects, it can do a file list
it can grab files . Only if I dont share files
in DC++ under Linux , once I setup some folders
to share it constantly crash's
with segment error's (see error below)
charlie@charlie-desktop:~$ dcpp
Loading: Hash database
Loading: Shared Files
Loading: Download Queue
Segmentation fault
Idealy if I could install Linux DC++ 0.261
that would be perfered as its not hashing
(or if anyone else knows of a stable
one that doesnt hash)
Here is a pic of the one I have running:
Thanks for any help in advance
you're not the first one to ask about a non-hashing client,
but most of the hubs will kick you for it, so nobody is interested in maintaining such a client.
and hashing is only a problem for a very short time, after that it will stop hashing.
try to let it hash over night without being connected to a hub, and limit the hashing speed if that's possible...
or try to use wine to run an older DC++ version, but i cannot guarantee it will work
