I installed 12.04 on my 4600.This is my second try at installing 12.04 beta 1. I used today's build. I have 2 GB memory on this box. Things went OK. A few glitches but Unity 2D functions pretty well. Added a few favorite programs; that went OK. Didn't find amsn in the reops. Medibuntu installed OK.
No real opinions yet. I know there are bugs to work out and many will disappear over the next few weeks. I'll wait on more stability before I upgrade Ubuntu 11.10 install and, maybe, 10.04 install on this box.
Looking forward to hacking and tuning over the next few weeks. I hope they put time into Unity 2D this time to make it more customizable and functional. I can honestly say I don't really dislike 2D all that much. In fact, I don't care one way or the other. Changing desktops isn't very traumatic for me.
