Hi!
I am trying to install Ubuntu server (base system) on my MacBook2,1 but I only succeed with the complete desktop installation. Which is by using ubuntu-11.10-alternate-amd64+mac.iso.
I tried using ubuntu-11.10-server-amd64.iso and minimal 11.10 but I just get the "1.2.Select CD-ROM Boot Type" problem.
I tried both Ubuntu 11.04 server and ubuntu minimal 11.04 which installs fine but then does not boot. I get a black screen where I can type stuff on boot both nothing happens.
What I want:
Only the server installation for Ubuntu on my MacBook
What I can do but do not want:
Install full desktop system with ubuntu-11.10-alternate-amd64+mac.iso.
I do not want any dualboot. Just a simple Ubuntu server installation on the entire disk.
Is there a way to only install the base system with the alternate cd?
