    Smile Application control on Ubuntu

    Hi guys,

I would like to know if there is a way to forbid the installation of specific software on Ubuntu.

I need to install few clients and I would like to "lock" them out from software like teamviewer or so.

I know that there are few software for windows but I was wondering how I can implement an application control on Ubuntu.

Any idea? sorry for the newbie question

Don't make your users members of the admin group, then they won't be able to install any packages at all.

    Re: Application control on Ubuntu

Thanks, this is a very good suggestion.

If for example, I would like to give them the permission to install software but forbid a specific one, do you think this will be possible?

I'm trying to emulate an application control rule that is easy to apply on Windows via -just as example- Symantec endpoint protection.

Do you think that a solution like this would be technically possible?

    Thanks for your help!
