PDF Downloads

Hi,
Have Ubuntu 10.10 .
I downloaded some pdf woodworking files which opened in document viewer.No problem.The plans of the furniture were clear as a bell.
Closed document viewer and downloads file thinking will come back and print later.
Now when I go to download file from the Firefox browser am unable to open them.
Is there some part of the PDF missing or is there something to do with the browser?
Opening the download folder and right clicking on the downloaded file the open and open containing folder are greyed out while the rest of the selections are ok and work when clicked on
Any Help would be appreciated

When you downloaded the files, did you use "Save as...." or "Open with...."?

No do not think so.It just downloaded and opened in doc viewer

You have to select SAVE AS in the Firefox down loader or if you open it, tell the pdf viewer to Save A Copy.

The file is not actually in the download dialog; that is just a log of what has been downloaded. If you did not save it from document-viewer or choose to save in the box that sometimes appears with the options "Open" or "Save", the file just downloaded to /tmp and then disappeared when you closed the browser page or rebooted.

Have had a hunt around and this is what I found in attachments from bug report though a few years old.
Allso downloaded PDF file andinstalled.Downloaded some PDF files and oppened them no prob.Closed browser and reopened,oppened tools,downloads,then doubbleclick on new PDF file and it oppened.
All very good but the PDF file is a 14day trial.
