Gnome 3 Distro where it isn't a second class citizen

Does anyone know a decent Debian based distribution that is going to support gnome 3 going forward? Everyone I have tried is now trying to produce a gnome 2 like experience while I like the gnome 3 - shell experience. I have considered fedora and opensuse, but there seems to be a larger community that I have interacted with in the debian branch. I also have become used to using apt-get etc, and would rather not change now. I also have been very happy with the Ubuntu community and really appreciate everything Ubuntu has done to make Linux easier to use out of the box. However, I really like Gnome 3 Shell but everyone seems to continue to offer it as an Add on or as a temporary solution to another DE being developed.

I am considering going Debian Test (currently contains the Gnome 3 shell packages) and running a more customized system debian based. However, again the ubuntu community is awesome.

Mint I considered but it seems like the focus will be on cinnamon rather than making a great gnome 3 shell based distro. I have considered Linux Mint Debian edition. In ubuntu there is some extra configuration to get it to work properly that I have run into, one example I cannot get the GTK+ Theme to show up in advanced settings.

You don't need to leave the community just because you're using another distro (although you may need to go elsewhere for support).

While I agree I can use gnome 3 in ubuntu I have had nothing but problems with Ubuntu 11.10. Everytime I install the first set of updates after the initial install next reboot I can't get to a log in screen to save my life. I have been using Mint which is just ubuntu and I have not had this issue at all. With and without gnome 3 on ubuntu I have been having this issue.

I know this isn't satisfactory but you might want to hang out on Mint for a while and then see what 12.04 has to offer. It's not too far down the road.

There is space for a Gnome Shell spin of Ubuntu. I'm surprised no one has jumped on this yet.

Another vote for Debian itself. They'll take their time getting Wheezy to "Stable," but when they do, they'll do GNOME 3 right.
