Install 11.10 terminated by signal 9 (Killed)

Hi,
I'm a complete newbie and wanted to install Ubuntu for the first time. I downloaded ubuntu 11.10 from the ubuntu website. Burned it to a CD like the site said and tried installing it.

After install it asked me to restart my system and so I did but when Ubuntu was trying to boot it got this error message:

terminated by signal 9 (Killed)


I've read a lot on ubuntuforums and other forums but didn't really find an answer... What I did find is that a lot of people with Nvidia graphic had the same problem with Ubuntu 11.04

(PS: i can't even get to login)
