    ubuntu not booting at TiMidity

    I get this far when booting and then everything freezes.

    Code:
    *Starting TiMidity++ ALSA midi emulation...
    I can ALT+CTRL+F4 and get to the terminal but I can't apt-get update as a possible solution as it won't recognize my password!

    Here's the catch, is this related? I'd just upgraded to 11.10 and it did boot/reboot until I installed Amarok 2.5.0 from repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports.

    I tried recovery mode to repair the broken packages but there were none.

    Solved.

    Reinstalled 11.10 Natty and selected the option of keeping my home folder but reinstalling over everything else.

    Unity did not recognize any of my drivers (like laptop screen and such) but gnome-classic did
