    Question installed gnome3 & now can't boot

    Hello
Recently i installed ubuntu 11.04. since due to hardware incompatibility i was using ubuntu classic desktop with no effects. So decided to give a try to gnome3. so i installed it & after restart it get stuck at black screen with cursor blinking after output " checking battery status...... [ok]
I tried through live cd to remove gnome3 but it ask some packages to download & since i can't connect my mobile broadband through terminal i am unable to remove it or fix broken packages. Is it possible to resolve this problem or i need to fresh install?
    Thanks in advance.

    Re: installed gnome3 & now can't boot

Did you install / upgrade to 11.10 or install Gnome 3 on 11.04 via a PPA ?

If you installed Gnome 3 on 11.04 via PPA there were warnings that this may break your system and there is no way to revert to Gnome 2 .

The other problem with the PPA I found is that the version 3.0 is already out dated .

I have installed it by adding ppa , I followed instruction in blog ( now can't find that blog). The blogger stated that " there was problem with gnome3 initially but now it is safe to try it"
