To give advice by referring to another Thread or Post, or to a Web Page, rather than Copy & Paste the text, how do I create a link?
I see the button for "Automatically parse links in text" in 'Miscellaneous Options' below, but how to use it?

"Better Solutions may bring Worsened Problems": After Lao Tse, b. circa 405BC. a contemporary of Confucius, who died circa 600BC.
They did things differently in those days, apparently!!
Click on the little web-link button at the top (screenshot at the bottom). Then edit the highlighted text to the text that you desire your hyperlink to show up as.
Practice here, if you want.
Hi!, MG&TL,
Thanks for the response. I am feeling very thick, I just do not see how that would be done.
Suppose I wanted to refer someone to the "HowTo: Grub Customizer" Thread in 'the Tips and Tutorials' forum: I highlight that and click on the 'Insert Link' button and it asks me for an http:/// URL.
Where to I get that from? From a bookmark ??
That would, or could, show me what the URL is, but I would have to write it down and type it in, as I cannot highlight it to copy it, or move the cursor away.
Surely there is an easier way than that.
Chao!, bogan.

You would need to know the URL, you'd copy it from another page or site.

One option is to open up the page you want to link to in a separate browser tab or window, and copy the link from the browser's address bar.
Another option, which works with Firefox and possibly other browsers as well, is to right-click on another link to the page and use "Copy link location"

Well, to link this page in chrome (not sure about FF or whatever), see the screenshots below:
1. Copy and paste address bar.
2. Paste link into post.
3. Edit text to your wish.
So, take a look at this thread for how to link to a page.
I hope this helps a bit.
Hi!, lisati,
You Posted:Thanks for that, I had just worked out how that would work, after trying unsuccessfully to get the URL fom a bookmark. One option is to open up the page you want to link to in a separate browser tab or window, and copy the link from the browser's address bar.
Your second suggestion, however I could not get to work:Did you mean click on a link already posted, rather than a link in Firefox itself.?Another option, which works with Firefox and possibly other browsers as well, is to right-click on another link to the page and use "Copy link location"
