For me the last step does not work... I get this message: Is this alright?
Do you want to proceed? (Y/N): y
OK; writing new GUID partition table (GPT) to /dev/disk0.
Warning: Devices opened with shared lock will not have their
partition table automatically reloaded!
Warning: The kernel may continue to use old or deleted partitions.
You should reboot or remove the drive.
The operation has completed successfully.
I can confirm this works with MacBookPro8,1, Debian 7, Windows 7 and Mountain Lion. Thanks!
You sir are a saint. I about S*** my pants when I booted (or attempted to rather) into windows and got that stomach wrenching "No OS" message. Thank you!!
I should also mention this will do the same for the refind boot loader as well as refit.
I am using iMac 27' Late 2012 (sorry don't know the number off the top of my head), OS X Yosemite, Windows 10 Tech preview, and Ubuntu 14.10.
Following the guide, for some reason my iMac late 2011 boots directly into ubuntu after rebooting. I have been unable to figure out why it is still doing this.
