Flash spikes CPU after update to 10.10

I actually already posted this accidentally in the wrong section. Here is my problem.

The title pretty much sums up my problem. After I upgraded to Maverick recently, Flash seems to spike my CPU whenever I run it for extended periods of time in Firefox. When I open System Monitor, it shows a process called "plugin-container" taking up most of the CPU. Ending this process ends whatever flash I'm running so I'm pretty sure that it represents the flash plugin.

Is there a fix for this?

I'm running 32 bit Maverick Meercat and the flash plugin in Firefox is up to date.
