Angry Won't detect USB Monitor (AOC e1649fwu)

Hello. I just received a new AOC USB monitor (model e1649fwu), but when I plug it in, it does not detect it as a monitor and the screen is black.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. The monitor works fine with WinXP, so I know it is functional.

Thanks to anyone who can lend a hand.

I just got my AOC e1649Fwu USB monitor today and am having the same issue. Has anyone got this to work?

I cannot see why you'd expect it to work.
The manufacturer says it will (only) work with its DriverLink software (available only for Windows and Mac), and cannot be used as primary display.

Ideally I'd like to use it as an extended desktop, the driver software that came with it is specifically for Windows & Mac like you said, but I didn't know if someone had created something or has a workaround that would allow it to work on my Ubuntu netbook. If so that would be great, if not (at least I can still use it at work)
